Bernhardt Interiors Living Room Sofa 104in N6357L

You could live on a busy city street or in a modest rural area but decorating need not be downplayed. Your townhouse may not be easily noticeable on the outside but you could decorate this domain with the best furnishings to make it noticeable once your visitors start pouring in.

Open your gates to your friends and colleagues and reveal a home that shows your personality. If you’re an artiste, then feature your music room. If you’re an avid collector of all things old, then you can be the curator to your mini-museum that is your home.

You might ask – what if my home isn’t fun? Then it’s time to turn it into a fun, exciting home. It might be a conventional space at the moment because you work long hours and have no time to do your home’s interior design.

Or the design elements could be basic, you know, the usual neutrals. You could begin your journey to change by reading interior design blogs and websites. Get ideas and inspiration from the many designers with different styles.

Even little changes could become noticeable as you take one tiny decorating step at a time.

A Myriad of Surprises

So what can your townhouse offer that other more spacious homes will not offer?

For starters, your layout should be far from typical. A townhouse would do well to have a mid-century appeal. Showcase your long and narrow living area. Emphasize the beauty of the wooden staircase leading to your bedrooms up top.

The doors are often smaller in mid-century townhouses but you will be amazed at the mad clashing of hues, patterns, décor, and other elements that make up the artist’s home.

Fill your living room with different photo frames. Each frame should showcase your travels or fun times that you had with your family. These should hover over your cushioned or leather sofa that’s filled with equally colorful pillows. Check out this ______  to our wide array of photo frame options.

Do you think that the pillow colors and designs should match? Nope. Go ahead and put in the most eccentric throw pillows that you can find.

As for the dining area, you can also place different-colored dining chairs. Surprise your guests also with your kitchen arrangement. You could have ornamental plants brought in. Give the greeneries a chance to impress everyone. To make the greenery unique, plant them inside whiskey bottles or cute teacups.

You can also have a special room for your collections and family gatherings. For instance, a room can be turned into a lounge area of sorts complete with a drum set, fully-stocked bar, and a pool table.

If you have a room that’s served no purpose but to store unused items, then it’s time to declutter, find some people to give away your stuff to (or donate them), and to repurpose this room into something more exciting.

This newly-cleaned room could easily become a reading nook for the bookworms in your family. It is the also the perfect study where collections could also be displayed. If you intend to showcase your collections, then be sure to purge it of items that no longer have any personal or sentimental value. Learn to prioritize especially when you have limited space to work with.

Your collections could also serve as the focal point in a room. There are collectibles with cases so they can be readily displayed to impress. Be sure to clean your collections regularly since these will serve as your conversation pieces as well.

Other options for your extra room is a home office or library.
