Would you want to spend the rest of your 2018 in prosperity and happiness? Of course, you would. To be able to do this, though, you will need to kick start the energy or qi (pronounced chi) in your home. This means giving your home a fresh start and a makeover especially for 2018. It’s time to say yes to Feng Shui 2018.

Feng Shui literally means wind-water. This is believed to be science in China and it is used to create harmony and balance in work and living spaces. This makes good use of energy and knowing where it should flow so that it will increase your home’s happiness and prosperity.

Most of the techniques and teachings in Feng Shui remain the same throughout the years. The north and west portions of your home are particularly challenged this year. Your kind of property, say, flat or house, need to be oriented in terms of the interior layout as well as the star signs of the occupants. Such factors are known to affect the level of health, too.

The Five Elements of Feng Shui

  • Wood
  • Fire
  • Earth
  • Water
  • Metal

It is important to understand these elements and how they can contribute to your home’s positive aura. These are also used together with elements such as the BaGua and the Yin and Yang. To fully comprehend their relevance, try imagining how you feel when you are up in the mountains or by a river or when looking at a flower garden. This same feeling is what you should achieve within your home.

Feng Shui also means getting rid of things that could impede the flow of energy. This means clearing out the clutter and throwing or at least giving away your unused stuff. You do this in order to create a more peaceful environment.

Hallway Feng Shui for 2018

The hallway or entryway needs to be carefully studied because the front door is the mouth of energy. This should be unobstructed so that the qi can freely flow into your home. Avoid putting loads of coats behind the door.

Yup. You’d have to say no to hanging coats behind the door, also, be sure to put away your shoes to a storage space where they are out of sight.

Place a charming potted plant on the hallway right on a console table that has round edges. This does not just bring positive energy into the room, it also couples beautifully with a table lamp. Make sure also that the area is always well-lit even during the night. Use low energy bulbs to save on energy.

Get Rid of Energy Blocks

There are invisible and visible energies that constantly affect humans. Your floor plan, the nearby residences, and even the placement of furniture all make a difference to these energies. Symbolic energy blocks include that toilet lid which should be kept closed else money is believed to be flushed away. You should also check on the fresh plants and flowers that you bring into your home. Make sure to take them out of your home the moment that they wilt. Wilted or dead plants are known to stagnate the progress of a home.

Even if you don’t use the main or front door, be sure to hang a BaGua there. This has eight rays which symbolize eight areas of your life including your career, marriage, etc.

Bad Feng Shui is also having a dusty home or keep broken items. That bed which you place right under a window must also be rearranged so that it will not cause bad luck. Be sure also to fix those leaks on your roof because these also represent damaged stuff.

Get rid of aggressive corners as well and also the back and front doors which are perfectly aligned.
